Tosco Music Studio students often take advantage of the opportunity to practice performance skills at the monthly Tosco Music Open Mic that is sponsored by Tosco Music and hosted by John Tosco. The event offers a safe, supportive setting; everyone is welcome to play! The event is also open to the public for all to enjoy!

Tosco Music Open Mic. John leads the evening with an open jam-circle and singalong where everyone,
audience and students and other performers, call out songs to sing and play together as a warm up.
Some students start out playing along before deciding to perform on stage.

Dylan has played at open mics before, and enjoyed them. Never one like John offers though. The sing-a-long circle in the beginning allows him to play with other musicians and learn songs he may not have heard before. This is his favorite part of the open mic! It's a welcoming stage and he truly enjoys it. ~ Ananda Underwood

"I've been playing for 46 years. Even did coffee houses and small bars back around the late 90's - early 00's. Never had any serious lessons (more than 2 weeks) until I started working with John this year. He's taken me to a level I didn't think possible because of all my 40+ year old bad guitar habits. John didn't expect me to start over. He accepted me where I was and took me from there. I'm so pleased I am associated with, in my opinion, the best guitar teacher in Charlotte and a huge asset to the arts community."
